In
many cases, we can offer
professional location
scouting services that
cost you nothing.
Here's
how it works:
The
cost for location scouting
services can be offset
by the commission derived
from the locations you
book through us. Please
note this special offer
does not apply to 'logistical'
days (non-scouting activities
a location manager would
normally perform, i.e.
permit coordination, obtaining
signatures, parking procurement,
etc.), and that the scouting
days cannot be amortized
across different locations
(i.e. you cannot use leftover
'credit' from booking
one of our houses and
apply it towards scouting
days for securing a restaurant
location).
Why
do we offer this?
Simple.
It helps us by being your
exclusive location agency.
The Internet is an incredible
asset to location scouts
and producers. It is currently
possible to put a dozen
or so location agencies
hard at work for you with
a very minimal effort.
However, while this is
great for producers, agencies
often take it on the chin,
and increasingly this
is leading to some of
them not putting forth
a great effort helping
you nail down that perfect
location.
How
does this benefit the
producer?
By
contracting with us for
free location scouting
services, you are assured
that you'll be getting
the full-on, 'nose to
the grindstone' service
you deserve. On the average,
you would get four viable,
film friendly & applicable
locations per scouting
day.
With
this option, you only
pay the location scouting
fee if:
1.) you end up not booking
the location through us*,
or
2.) the cost of the location
scouting services are
not covered by the commission
derived from the location,
or
3.) the location is non-commissionable
(i.e. beaches, public
places, roads, etc.)
*
While we do not have every
possible location in our
database, as licensed
real estate brokers we
have access to tools which
allow us to find and contact
the owner of nearly any
property, with whom we
can contract to represent
the location for filming
purposes.
